▷ LOL or LULZ (also written with some or all letters lowercase) is an abbreviation for laughing out loud or laugh out loud. LOL is a common element of Internet slang used historically on Usenet.
It is one of many initialisms for expressing bodily reactions, in particular laughter.
Some people think that would come from lol Netherlands where it means "fun", but there is also the verb "lolmaken" which means "have fun."
ROFL : roll(ing) on the floor laughing
BWL : bursting with laughter
